The three -would be judges, say, they can help right the ship. A ship that some experts say is sinking-in the wake of a scandal that has two former judges accused of corruption the likes of which has never been seen before in history
Democrats, William Amesbury, and Tina Polachek Gartley and Republican Richard Hughes, say, they have what it takes to move Luzerne County out of the darkness of scandal.
We caught up with Amesbury and Gartley at a Democratic rally on Monday. Gartley insists, she is a voice of change...
"I'm a new voice for justice, I represent a diversity that we need so desperately need in Luzerne County 10 judicial seats I've been a public servant the work I've done I have devoted to giving those who never had a voice a voice in the courthouse, that's what i think the county needs, we need to heal and move forward i represent that voice."
For William Amesbury, restoring faith in the court system, is job one.
"My candidacy has been premised on the experience that I bring, a lifetime of serving my community, a strong background in civil law, excellent background in criminal law, ability to handle administrative issues, all I want to have people take a look who is the candidate to make Luzerne County a beacon of hope not just for us, but for our children and grandchildren."
Richard Hughes says, it's all about fairness. "We'll we've run a campaign on basis of fundamental fairness and I know when people come in they are entitled to one thing, to have an even playing field, when they come into a courtroom. I know I'm the man who will give them that."
WBRE TV will continuing coverage of the election Tuesday, November 3rd. | |
