MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY- Fire crews in Lycoming County battled a blaze at a home on Thursday.

It happened in the 1900 block on the Route 287 highway in Mifflin Township around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Fire crews said when they arrived flames were shooting through the back windows and roof. They brought the two alarm blaze under control in about a half-hour. There was heavy fire damage to the attic. The rest of the house sustained heavy smoke damage.

Fortunately there were no injuries. An investigation continues.
