Madison Township -
No one was hurt, that's the good news. Investigators say this fire could have had a tragic ending had anyone been in that house. Some neighbors say they heard an explosion just moments before the home was destroyed.
It looks like something you would see in a war zone. There is nothing left of this house in Madisonville . At around 9:30 Friday morning flames erupted in the Janshefski home on Majors Road . Firefighters could do nothing. It was already lost.
Chief Kevin Emerson, of the Madison Township Fire Department says, “Well, exactly what you see now is what we found when we got here. It was in the basement of this two story structure. This beautiful house is unfortunately gone."
Some neighbors say they heard an explosion just before the fire. Barbara Clarke lives nearby with her kids. They could not believe what they were looking at. She says, “We were a little concerned. We wanted to make sure everyone got out safe and were glad they did. Neighbors up here take care of each other. I'm glad they made it out okay."
In fact, the four members of the family were not home at the time. They returned to find the unthinkable.
A State Police Fire Marshal will investigate. It will likely take a day or two for him to get into the rubble since the scene is so hot. Again nobody was injured.
