PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY- A Luzerne County man is locked up accused of causing an Independence Day bomb scare.
Police say 44-year-old Raymond Cupinski of Plymouth is the man behind the 4th of July commotion.
Cops were called to Cupinski's Church Street home Saturday night around 6:30 after his wife called 9-1-1. She told police Cupinski was making a pipe bomb and he'd kill her if she told anyone.
Police shut down several streets and evacuated nearby homes. They confiscated the pipe bomb and a rifle, a shotgun and a pistol.
Police also say Cupinski planned to set off the pipe bomb last night.
Cupinski is jailed on multiple charges, including possessing or making weapons of mass destruction and risking a catastrophe. | |
