EFFORT, MONROE COUNTY- The man accused of killing his girlfriend and his son is now behind bars. Police say Michael Parrish murdered Victoria Adams and their son Sidney Parrish Monday.

He was on the run until police caught Parrish and the man accused of helping him in a little town called Somersworth, New Hampshire.

According to a family member, Monday was the first time Victoria had ever left the baby alone with Michael.

That family spokesperson also confirmed some grim details for Eyewitness News. They say the baby died in his mother's arms and was shot three times. Meanwhile Victoria was shot a total of seven times.

Word of the shocking deaths and the apprehension of Michael Parrish spread quickly around the mainly rural area.

People who never met Victoria Adams or her baby Sidney Parrish mourned their loss - and honored them with flowers.

Kathy Gallagher dropped off a cross and a bouquet. She said, "I just have this for the baby and the mother."

Police say Michael Parrish shot and killed his girlfriend 21-year-old Victoria Adams - and their son Sidney - who was just a toddler.

Criminal Investigation Supervisor Sergeant Brian S. Tobin said, "Any investigation where a child is harmed - let alone brutally murdered - certainly takes its toll on the investigators."

Investigators spent most of Tuesday trying to find Parrish. Police paperwork shows they used cell phone tracking.

Officers learned Parrish called his friend Conrad Jankowski - shortly after the killings. "The cell phone records were a big part of the investigation," said Tobin.

It appears Jankowski picked up Parrish in Effort, then they drove north about 300 miles to New Hampshire. There they stopped at a mini mart and talked to a clerk.

"Indicated to him [the clerk] that they were going to stay in the parking lot of that gas station for a couple hours while they got some sleep in their vehicle," said Tobin.

That clerk called police who discovered the men were wanted. "The local PD did an excellent job," added Tobin.

A New Hampshire judge arraigned the men Wednesday morning. He ordered Parrish to be held without bail.

Police expect to bring them back to Pennsylvania in the next day or two.

In the meantime a fund has been setup to help the victim’s family with funeral costs. You can send a check to:
