CHESTNUTHILL TWP., MONROE COUNTY- A New York man is behind bars in Monroe County after allegedly assaulting a state trooper.

Investigators say it happened Friday night in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers say Michael Foley tried to outrun a female officer both in his car and on foot.

It didn't work. When the trooper caught up with Foley a fight started and the trooper suffered minor injuries to her head.

The 40-year-old is locked-up on $50,000 bail.
