EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - A Monroe County man is under arrest after a 7-hour armed standoff.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of Washington Street in East Stroudsburg.

Police were called Wednesday morning around 12:30.

They say 30-year-old Mark McGurk was armed with a rifle when he barricaded himself in the home.

Authorities took McGurk into custody around 7:30 a. m. without incident after finding him hiding in a crawl space that was buried under dirt.

McGurk faces charges of reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a firearm by a former convict.
