KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY- Kingston Police say they've arrested a serial bank robber. They say Adam Verdekal confessed to holding up the Honesdale National Bank in Kingston on Wednesday.

This is the third time the bank has been robbed. The FBI will soon be taking over this case. They plan to charge Verdekal with 6 bank robberies over the last month.

Those hold ups stretch from banks in Edwardsville, Hanover Township, Kingston and Forty Fort. Kingston Police Captain John Jorda told us they got him in custody with the help of Security Administrator Kevin Colgan and an undercover detective. "When he (Verdekal)) walked out of the bank, Mr. Colgan confronted him outside of the bank. During the struggle the defendant took off his sweatshirt and was able to get away. One of our detectives was in pursuit of him and they got him several homes away."

Police say it was a massive effort to nab Verdekal. During their investigation they were able to time out his next move. At one point police had 42 banks throughout the West Side under surveillance.

Verdekal is behind bars on $100,000 cash bail. Police also took a woman into custody but said she is not involved in the crimes.
