WILLIAMSPORT LYCOMING COUNTY- A Clinton County man is charged with forging a prescription for the narcotic Hydrocodone.

Police arrested 37-year-old Ricky Cranford, Junior of Mcelhattan on Tuesday after they said he tried to fill the forged prescription at the CVS Pharmacy on Lycoming Creek Road in Williamsport. The pharmacist became suspicious because the same prescription was filled just two days earlier. The pharmacist called a doctor's office in Maryland where the prescription was written and the office confirmed that Cranford was not a patient.

Police said Cranford admitted he was addicted to narcotics and that a friend in Maryland gave him the phony prescription.

Cranford is jailed on 35-thousand dollars bail at Lycoming County Prison.
