SUGARLOAF TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- A Luzerne County man is charged with raping a child over a 10-year period.
State police at Hazleton arrested 37-year-old Vincent Catrone of Black Creek Township Wednesday morning. Investigators say Catrone raped a girl who's now 19.
The girl told police it started when she was just 9, and that she feared telling police until now because Catrone threatened to harm her and her family. State Trooper Jim Surmick said, "There were some attempts prior by the victim recently to report this but again the threat played a big part in this."
Catrone is locked up on $100,000 bail in Luzerne County prison.
