PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY -- A West Pittston man accused of brutally attacking and robbing an elderly man is going to trial.

Jeremy Asay waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Asay is accused of beating Larry Shannon outside a convenience store on South Main Street in Pittston in March. Shannon lost his eye and a tooth.

In court the judge called the robbery one of the most horrendous acts he's seen on the streets of Pittston.

Asay only got away with $11.
