WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- A deadly hit and run crash happened on Route 309 in Wilkes-Barre Township early this morning. Police say 63-year-old Ronald George of Wilkes-Barre Township was killed while attempting to cross the highway just after 5:30 A.M.

It happened in front on Dunkin' Donuts near K-Mart around. Traffic was down to one lane between Jackson and Blackman Streets as the investigation continued through late morning.

Police interviewed witnesses to get a description of the hit and run vehicle. They say it was a non-passenger type vehicle, likely meaning some sort of commercial truck.

The search for that vehicle and driver continues. If you have any information, please contact police.
