WHITE HAVEN, LUZERNE COUNTY- He led police on more than a dozen miles from where he's accused of rape and kidnapping.

Police say George Boston had his three year old daughter in the car during that chase. Investigators say he raped his ex, kidnapped his child and then tried to kill himself.

A slow speed chase Saturday morning ended where Route 437 meets Church Street in White Haven. Herb Albee saw everything. "He was sitting there laughing and smiling and driving away," he said.

Police say Gorge Boston of Wilkes-Barre Township finally stopped the car along 437 in White Haven and stabbed himself in the neck. Police don't believe Boston was sober when he led them on a 20-mile chase.

"They tried to box him in, and stop him and he wasn't having any of it," added Albee.

John Swerdon said, "They finally got him to pull over. Got him out of the car with all their guns drawn and I saw him being put to the ground."

Authorities say the initial call came from Wilkes-Barre. That's where Boston allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's home, raped the woman at knifepoint and kidnapped their young daughter.

Officers pulled the toddler from the car they say Boston stole from his ex. Wright Township Police Chief Joe Jacob said, "Trying to reinstate for lack of a better time a relationship with the victim which she wants no part of. It was a last ditch effort, he threatened the victim's life, held a knife to her throat."

From Wilkes-Barre, Fairview Township Police caught up to Boston on Pine Run Road. That's where they say he hit a guard rail and kept going. Authorities were nervous knowing Boston's baby was in the car with him. "Fortunately there wasn't a high speed chase where more lives could've been in danger, there was a safe conclusion," added Jacob.

Albee said, "What he did was stupid. There's got to be a better legal way of doing things."

Police say Boston will face serious charges. He's under medical supervision and will be charged when he’s released.
