WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Thomas Leyshon is accused of attacking four women at a hair salon in Plains Township, "I'm very sorry about what happened. It's just sad. I ruined my life that day, it was very foolish of me," he said.

After months of silence Thomas Leyshon spoke exclusively to WBRE News. He was at the Luzerne County Court House pleading guilty to four counts each of aggravated assault and robbery. The father of four says he's sorry for attacking four women with a hammer last year. Leyshon told WBRE News, "I can't even explain what happened that day, because I really don't know much about it because I was really messed up. But, I know it was very wrong and I'm very sorry for what happened that day."

That day was August 10, 2007 when police say Leyshon brutally beat his four victims at the Hairem Hair Salon in Plains Township. Court papers show Leyshon went on the brutal rampage looking for quick cash to feed his cocaine addiction. Reporter Jill Konopka asks, ‘Do you blame it on drugs? Leyshon replied, ‘Absolutely, totally out of character of myself. I've never been in trouble before."

Prosecutors tell us the apology may be too little, too late. Mike Vough is a Luzerne County District Attorney and said, "He can make his apology in court and to his victims. Lets see if they accept that. I don't think they will."

Vough says all of Leyshon's victims, Jean Chopka, Emily Klem, Joan Ostrowski and Margaret Benzi still suffer emotionally. Their families filled the courthouse, some by their side. Vough added, "This is the best result the victims could ever hope for. They don't have to go through the trial and they get the same result they would've got at trial."

Prosecutors will seek the maximum sentence against Leyshon - 160 years behind bars. Leyshon will be sentenced May 22nd. The victims in this brutal attack say they will speak to WBRE News at his sentencing.
