WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Police brought 36-year-old John Slusarik III to court here and charged him with making terroristic threats, driving under the influence, and reckless endangerment.

Troopers say Slusarik began arguing with his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend around 6:30 Friday morning at Laurel Run Estates. He left, but came back, and so did authorities. They say Slusarik sped away on his ATV and struck a state police cruiser, then took off on foot. They say the crash was unintentional.

"Our biggest concern was the level of intoxication and that his girlfriend stated she didn't know what his capabilities were," said Trooper Tom Kelly.

They found Slusarik hiding in the basement of his Sheridan Street home. Slusarik is now jailed on $20,000 straight bail and faces a hearing April 6th.
