Man Who Lived in Family's Attic Pleads Guilty
Man Who Lived in Family's Attic Pleads Guilty - Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 6:35PM EST
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- For the last five months, Stacy Ferrance has been living a nightmare.
Night time is horrible here, absolutely horrible every noise we hear, we're constantly jumping up," she told Eyewitness News.
Tuesday Stanley Carter admitted living in her attic crawlspace without her family's knowledge Christmas week. He ate their food, wore their clothes, and even used their toothbrushes. “This whole family has been very, very violated. He has disrupted our lives from the time he was up there," added Ferrance.
Right after entering his guilty plea, Carter had nothing to say to reporters, or Ferrance's youngest child, who's 5-years-old and still has trouble sleeping. “She still hears things, gets up in the middle of the night, constantly crying. She doesn't sleep by herself. She's in my bed since this happened," said Stacy.
Ferrance and her family hope carter receives a significant prison sentence, but even more, the only other thing they want is an apology. “You could at least say you're sorry, be a man and say I'm sorry, I did something wrong," she added.
Carter is scheduled to be sentenced in July. | |
