TANNERSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY- A Monroe County man will head to trial for a hit and run crash that killed a man. A judge ruled there was enough evidence for Sean Murray to face a jury.

Police say he crashed into Arthur Clyde Pierce last August and then drove away. It happened in Interstate 80 west in Tannersville.

Murray said he didn't realize he hit a person. But police say even after he learned he killed someone, he still didn't turn himself in. They were able to find him based on an insurance claim and a tip.

Pierce's sister Jane Tremper said her brother was a good man. "He would give you the shirt off his back. That's just the way he was - and he was a good friend to everybody and he just believed in the road. That was his life. That was what he loved to do is drive his truck," she said.

Sean Murray is in prison in on $25,000 bail. At Monday's hearing the judge learned Murray had bench warrants for other crimes. One of them was a DUI-related incident.
