PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY- A Luzerne County man is seriously injured when he is hit by car while riding his bike.

Eyewitness News on the scene Sunday evening on Maffett Street in Plains Township near the Cross Valley Expressway.

Police say a car struck a Larksville man in his 20s near the intersection with River Street just before 8:30. The impact shattered the windshield. The injured man was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

A state police reconstruction unit was on scene and kept Maffett near River closed until about 10 P. M.

Police don't expect to file charges against the elderly Plains Township woman driving the car.
