Marino To Face Carney for 10th District Seat

Marino To Face Carney for 10th District Seat - Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 04:03AM EST

Tuesday May 18 2010
Incumbent Chris Carney is running unopposed on the Democratic side in the 10th Congressional District.

That covers much of the northeastern corner of the state as well as parts of central PA.

Ex-U. S. Attorney & ex-Lycoming County District Attorney Tom Marino has won the republican nod and will move on to face Carney in November.

Marino campaigned heavily on his blue collar upbringing and experience as a county and federal prosecutor.

Eyewitness News caught up with Marino at his victory party at the Sons of Italy Lodge in Williamsport.

Marino noted, "It boils down to taking that experience and proving to people that I'm the one that can represent them and I best reflect what the 10th District of Pennsylvania is about."

Marino applauded his opponents- Dave Madeira of Luzerne County, and Malcolm Derk of Snyder County- for running positive, issues-oriented campaigns.
