SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A Mayfield man will face between 3 and 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to a homicide by motor vehicle case.

Tuesday afternoon, 21-year-old Mark Stephens admitted to being drunk when he caused a deadly accident on the Casey Highway in Carbondale Township in April.

Prosecutors say Stephens was going more than 100 miles an hour and had a blood alcohol content of three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Investigators say Stephen's car hit Robert Quinn's car.

Quinn, who was a Beach Lake resident, died in the accident.

Assistant District Attorney Mary Ann Grippo said, "This is the kind of case that just spotlights the horrific tragedies that occur when people drive drunk. This is yet another family that has to go through a holiday season without a loved one, without a husband, without a father, without a son because someone decided to get behind the wheel drunk."

Mark Stephens will be sentenced within the next 90 days.
