LUZERNE COUNTY -- Memorial Day ceremonies were held throughout the area Monday.

People lined the street in Dallas Monday morning armed with patriotic pride as veterans, past and present, walked the parade route. People of all ages showed their appreciation, including one girl who believes a simple thank you is never enough.

The parade made its way to Warden Cemetery and then to Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

And in Wilkes-Barre, a Memorial Day parade was held by the Parsons Lions Club. People lined up along George Avenue waving their flags as groups of veterans walked by.

The parade ended with a memorial service held by the Wyoming Valley Detachment Marine Corps.
