WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- Members of a church gathered for the unveiling of a memorial stone which pays tribute to fallen troops.

The dedication at the West Bethel Baptist Church on Parrish Street commemorates seven men who died fighting for the flag in World Wars I and II.

Korean War Veteran Pete Johnson said, "Every one of these guys died... for even those who served, we're here because of it and the freedom we have. And we're here because of it. And that's what it's all about"

Church member Jack Johnson had the honor of unveiling the memorial. Johnson is a former marine and World War II veteran who saw action in the Pacific conflict.
