MESHOPPEN, WYOMING COUNTY -- A local family touched by tragedy is getting a helping hand.

Penny Raza suffered a spinal cord injury in an accident last November.

The Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation out of Tunkhannock has given Penny and her family more than $11,000 to renovate their Meshoppen home to accommodate her wheelchair.

Doctors tell Penny, with a lot of hard work, she may be able to walk again within a few years.
