HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY- Friday will be the eighth anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks on the United States.

Thursday, a check for more than one-million dollars was presented by the Hearts of Steel Campaign.

The money will be used for a national memorial honoring the heros of United Airlines Flight 93.

It will be built on the sight where the plane crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania in Somerset County.

The money was raised by selling stainless steel engraved bracelets.

The federal government will pay nine-and-a-half million dollars to acquire the land for the memorial.

Construction of the Flight 93 memorial is expected to start in November.
