WHITE DEER TWP., UNION COUNTY -- Grief counselors were on hand Saturday at Milton High School following a deadly crash.
The school community is coping with the loss a star athlete and serious injuries to two other students. It happened Friday night around 10:00 in White Deer Township on New Columbia Road.
State police say 17-year-old Alex Moser of Milton was driving an estimated 80 to 90 MPH when he lost control of the car.
It slammed into a utility pole, sheering it in half. The car rolled several times, landing in a corn field.
Moser died at the scene. His passengers, a 17-year-old Milton girl and a 16-year-old New Columbia girl, were both flown to Geisinger, Danville.
Moser attended Milton High School. He competed in PIAA Class AA and YMCA national swimming title events.
Saturday's boys basketball game and wrestling match were postponed because of the tragedy. | |
