HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY-
Hazleton City leaders say, they may have been misled by a company that runs a halfway house for inmates in the city. After several crimes, involving residents of Min-Sec, the city has launched efforts to get to the truth about the facility. Many Hazleton residents turned out to voice their concerns over the facility. Min-Sec officials insist they did not mislead the city and only want to be good neighbors. The facilty houses inmates nearing the end of their prison terms.
In recent months, several high profile crimes have been connected to min-sec residents including robberies, a stabbing and drug dealing. One client was even murdered
City Council members and Mayor Lou Barletta want it shut down.
Representative Todd Eachus said earlier today he's asked the Department of Corrections to end its contract with Min-Sec. | |
