Missing girl found

Missing girl found - Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 4:35PM EST

A missing Lackawanna County teenager is found safe and the man she was with faces felony charges.

16 year old Ashley Dito of Simpson was missing for 3-weeks.

Police say she was with 39 year old Gary Ganaposki of Wilkes-Barre .

He turned himself in at the state police barracks in Dunmore Tuesday morning.

A few hours later he was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Lackawanna County courthouse.

Police say Ganaposki was having an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year old.

They say he drove to her Simpson house on November 11th to receive a birthday present from her.

Police say the girl's parents allowed the meeting.

But that night was the last time the girl's parents saw her, until Tuesday.

Police say Ganaposki and the girl were staying at his Wilkes-Barre house.

Ganaposki, his parents, and the missing girl all showed up the police barracks Tuesday.

Now Ganaposki is charged with 3 felonies.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Bill Satkowski says, “Well the obvious violation here is the difference in ages. In addition the 16 year old was missing school and doctors appointments and it's very important that somebody that age attends school."

When Ganaposki turned himself in, the 16 year old was turned over to children and youth services.

It will decide if and when the girl will return to her parents.

State police also say this investigation is not over.

Ganaposki was released on 10 thousand dollars bail.
