STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY- A couple from Monroe County is recovering after they narrowly escaped a fire that destroyed their apartment.
Flames broke out at their apartment house at 1503 B Trinity Court in Stroud Township.
It happened around 5:00 Thursday morning.
Ronald and Vicki Vallieri both managed to escape the burning building before flames consumed their apartment.
Fire Victim Ronald Vallieri said, "My wife woke me up I don't know around 5:00 and said the house was on fire. I came downstairs and the back door blew up on me and I got burned a little bit. And she jumped out a second floor window. We lost one dog in there and the big dog followed me out. I got my wife out of the window and then police started arriving."
The couple was taken to Pocono Medical Center and were treated and released.
The Vallieris say they lost everything in the fire.
