More Judicial Accusations Fly at Justice Hearings

More Judicial Accusations Fly at Justice Hearings - Monday, April 12, 2010 at 04:14AM EST

HARRISBURG -- Accusations of more judicial misconduct were flying today in Harrisburg.

The Juvenile Justice Commission is investigating the Judicial Conduct Board. That's the group that removed former Luzerne County Judge Ann Lokuta from the bench.

Attorneys for Lokuta say the Judicial Conduct Board ignored complaints about former judge Michael Conahan during Lokuta's hearings.

Conahan is charged with helping steer juveniles to detention facilities for more than two million in kickbacks.

Today the chief counsel for the Judicial Conduct Board admitted they sat on the complaints for months.

The Juvenile Justice Commission is trying to decide if the kids-for-cash scheme could have been stopped sooner had those complaints been heard.
