PLAINS TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY -- A Wilkes-Barre man is locked up for a fight at a popular Luzerne County nightspot.

21-year-old Joseph Monroe is charged with assault, resisting arrest and possession of an instrument of crime.

Police say they responded early Friday morning to the Woodlands Inn & Resort in Plains Township for a scuffle involving more than 75-people.

Monroe tried stabbing a man then held the knife in a threatening manner at police. Officers drew their guns and Monroe dropped the knife.

He faces a hearing on Tuesday.
