MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY - The Foxmoor Seven Movie Theater has gone dark, shut down because of an eviction. Foxmoor Mall Manager Ronald Rouse explained, "They hadn't paid their rent in a while."

Rouse told Eyewitness News the theater owner didn't pay the rent for more than a year and it looks like he hasn't paid his electric bill either. There's a shut off notice in the door.

Theater owner Norman Aide said this was not his fault. He said he paid rent in advance but a judge wouldn't count that rent. In fact, that judge said Adie owed more than $3 million. Adie told us that he might not have to pay it and he said the case remains open in court.

The court battle and eviction leave Foxmoor Village with just one tenant, Sonny Hawkes Army Navy Store. The owner said, "I seem to make it any place I go. I'm like a survivor." He said he doesn't think the theater closure will hurt his business.

Rouse hopes a new tenant moves in and starts a rebirth at Foxmoor.

Meanwhile Adie said he plans to open another theater in the Poconos.
