The Grand Opening of the new Smithfield Township municipal center has been postponed. It has been moved from December 31st to Saturday, January 3rd at 2 PM. Township officials had invited residents to ring in the New Year tonight, but it was postponed due to weather conditions. The newly constructed municipal center is located at Waterfront Park in Smithfield Township.
The schedule of family-friendly, alcohol-free events on January 3rd include:

* 2 p. m.: "Candlelight Concert" with keyboardist Don Slepian
* 4 p. m.: Ribbon Cutting & Social Hour
* 5 p. m.: Roast Pork & Pot Luck Dinner
* 6:30 to 9 p. m.: "Hoe Down" - Square Dance and Sing-Along with Peter Taney's Juggernaut String Band.
