MONROE COUNTY- A Monroe County man is heading to prison on murder charges.

Fritz Dejoie of Blakeslee was sentenced to serve 17 to 40 years in prison.

He pleaded guilty to third degree homicide.

Dejoie admitted to shooting Steven Santillo, Blakeslee, in July of 2008.

Police say that deadly Chestnuthill shooting was over drugs.

Dejoie says it was self-defense.
