WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Testimony will continue Wednesday morning in connection with a Luzerne County murder trial.

Louis Patrick, 79, could face life in prison if convicted of killing his live-in girlfriend, Doris Lemons, last July.

In court Tuesday, the first witnesses took the stand. Two Wilkes-Barre police officers testified that Lemons was stabbed 69 times and that Patrick was found in the next room with a knife by his side.

Jurors also saw graphic crime scene photos. Defense attorneys say there is no proof Patrick committed the murder.

The trial is expected to last until Thursday.
