A Luzerne county school district is reporting a case of MRSA.
MRSA is a highly contagious bacteria that is resistant to most antibiotics. The Nanticoke Area School District is reporting that a student that attends the Educational Center for sixth and seventh graders, was out of school since Wednesday and has been treated for the infection MRSA.
The school moved quickly to disinfect the building and maintain the safety of other students. This makes the total MRSA cases in local school districts to 4.
