PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY- A fellow neighbor doesn’t think twice about helping his neighbor from a burning building. It happened just before 11am Tuesday on East Shawnee Avenue in Plymouth .

John Keegan of Plymouth says he'd do it all over again. "If it would happen to me I would expect somebody to do it. In today's world people just ride and forget about you, but somebody has to do it sometime," says Keegan.

Keegan came home Tuesday morning and found his neighbor Donald Stock's house on fire. Stock was trapped inside. He and a mailman quickly rushed in to help. Keegan says, "I went over to help the mailman because we were trying to get him out. He wanted to go into his house so we wanted to make sure he was out of the house and into his car."

Stock made it out, and wasn't hurt. Fire crews put out the flames within 30 minutes. The Plymouth fire chief says it appears the fire was accidental . It was possibly started by a heater. An official cause won't be released until an investigation is finished.

Keegan's just happy Stock is okay, and says he's no hero, just a helpful neighbor. He says, “There's not really words to it. It's just having the right heart, and that's what we need."

The Plymouth fire chief says the house is a total loss. The Red Cross and Bureau of Aging are helping stock find a temporary place to live.
