OLD FORGE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Neighbors are being credited for saving the lives of two people in Old Forge. Flames broke out late Friday night at a home on Amity Avenue. A mother and daughter were inside.
Two neighbors noticed the flames and helped the mother and daughter escape the burning home. The fire victims were taken to the hospital and will be okay.
Firefighters say when they arrived the home was engulfed in flames. Old Forge Fire Chief Bob Aulisio told Eyewitness News, “The fire had a good start even before we got here but once we got our lines down and start making an attack on it we started to knock it down pretty quickly but it did have a good start on us."
There’s no word yet on how that Old Forge fire started. | |
