Residents in Larksville don't have to worry anymore about losing part-time firefighters and fire protection in their town.
Tuesday night council voted unaninmously to approve a new contract for the fire department.
This despite months of talks about laying off part-time members of the force in order to tighten the borough's budget.
Council approved the contract with no tax increase.
But full time fire fighters agreed to pay five percent into their health care plans as part of the new contract..
Council still says the borough will operate on a minimal budget in 2008 and can't promise that cutbacks won't be made next year.
