New ER Debuts at Sunbury Community Hospital - Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 6:45PM EST
SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY- Dozens of people spent the day checking out the newly renovated emergency room at Sunbury Community Hospital.
The 5 million dollar project basically triples the size of the E. R. and adds four new beds.
Other aspects of the new emergency room are a larger nursing station and decontamination area. Director of Marketing Emily Kissinger said, The increased space and privacy will allow us to treat patients more efficiently and create a better flow for patients."
Suzanne Ivanitch of Sunbury said, “What I like, especially are the private exam rooms, the larger reception area. It’s just beautiful."
The new emergency room has been in the planning stages for five years in Northumberland County. | | |
