A new building will be a one stop shop for the Frackville community.

Right now, the old Frackville elementary school has ripped up carpets and empty rooms.

It hasn't been used since students left in June of 2006.

But soon it will house Frackville's free library.

Frackville borough councilman Patrick O'boyle says, "This library will go from this wall on center street back to the alleyway.”

A new police headquarters, and bourough council chambers and offices will also move into the building.

Frackville borough council president Steve Bobiak says, "Too many times our municipalities just say well you know that's just an old building. Well the asset that's sitting right here is going to bring Frackville into a lot of good money's were we can cut the taxes."

In 2 weeks, current borough offices here on nice street will move into the school.

It will be a one stop shop for public service.

People living here say it's a great idea.

Cheryl Reed of Frackville says, "We have to go to several different places just to pay trash bills, sewer bill. You know, I'll be glad just to have it in one building."

Councilman Bobiak says the YMCA and Red Cross could move into the school as well.

Until then, Frackville's biddy basketball program is using the gym, and workers are buffing floors, and spackling walls

Before the community center can be finished some parts need to made handicapped accessible.

A three floor elevator will be built to accommodate.

But once everything is finished, council says it will be a big win for the small borough.
