WEST HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- The final funding is now in place in West Hazleton to revitalize a former school site on Madison Avenue.

The land, which once was home to the old E. A. Encke Elementary School, will soon be turned into affordable housing. 30 apartments for seniors and the disabled will be built on this site beginning this fall.

Right now, the borough of West Hazleton doesn't have any housing for low-income seniors. The complex is expected to be finished by the end of next year.
