PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The public got its first look Saturday at the newest nursing home and rehabilitation center in Luzerne County.

Timber Ridge Health Care Center held a grand opening in the Wilkes-Barre area. It'll be the new home for residents of the former Luzerne County-owned Valley Crest Nursing Home in Plains Township.

Complete Health Care Resources Eastern bought Valley Crest and built the new 180-bed facility. It'll offer residents state of the art health care and many modern conveniences.

Regional V. P. Ed Balliet said, "We have an electronic data system where charting is done on a computer instead of on paper. We've also done a lot of things for the residents to help enhance their dignity and their dining experience."

Management expects to welcome residents into Timber Ridge Health Care Center February 11th.
