MOOSIC, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- The final phase of a project to fix drainage problems at PNC Field is finally underway.

Crews began laying new sod at the ballpark in Moosic Monday morning. The infield is being done first. The work is expected to take several days.

The field renovations were needed after drainage problems forced several games to be postponed or relocated over the summer.

The work costs more than one million dollars.
