New Williamsport Hospital Rooms Unveiled - Friday, April 10, 2009 at 5:35PM EST
Williamsport, Lycoming County-
Members of the media recently got a chance to see the future of patient care at Williamsport Hospital.
Susquehanna Health gave tours of state-of-the-art replicas of facilities that will be offered at the hospital’s new patient tower.
The replicas include a treatment room, operating suite, private patient room, and nurse’s station.
The new 300,000 square foot patient tower will be attached to the current hospital.
Vice-President of Facility Development Rita Spangler explained, “The purpose of these mock-ups is to allow our staff to come through and actually evaluate things that still can be changed before we begin construction at the end of this year.”
The rooms follow a patient-centered, family-focused model and include amenities and design features used in healing.
Construction on the patient tower as well as other renovations at Susquehanna Health should be completed by 2012. | |
