Turbotville, Northumberland County-
A fire in Northumberland County destroyed a building that housed three apartments.
It happened just before noon Thursday at the rear of 37 Main Street in Turbotville.
No one was home at the time of the fire. But firefighters were able to rescue a cat and a dog from one of the apartments.
Warrior Run Area Fire Chief Mark Burrows noted, "We had fire blowing out of the second floor. It was making its way out to the rear of the building. Our plan of attack was we knocked it down exteriorly and then went inside and extinguished the fire."
A restaurant next door was not damaged.
The Red Cross is helping the three victims. We're told they all have arranged places to stay. | | |
