People across the nation are pausing to remember those who lost their lives on 9-11 ,six years ago Tuesday.
A moving ceremony held on Tuesday night at Saint Ann's Basilica in Scranton. Area firefighters honoring firefighters and rescue workers who were first to respond on 9-11.
The firefighters walked to the Basilica passed fire trucks with their ladders raised in honor. A Mass of Remembrance was said by Father Thomas Landry..
Followed by a candlelight procession -- to honor all the victims of 9-11.
In Monroe County, a candle light memorial service was held at the "American Legion West End Memorial Post 927" -- in Gilbert. It was the 6th Annual 9-11 service. They invited the public to stand up and be counted -- and to show their support for america and its troops. Guest speakers included officials from the N-Y-P-D, the State of Pennsylvania and the U.S Military.
In the community of Northumberland.. Emergency Personnel and the community members gathered to recognize and honor those who died in the attacks on America.
The ceremony at the American Legion Post 44 also paid tribute to emergency workers.
Northumberland County President Judge Robert Sacavage -- was the keynote speaker.
In Williamsport, at Bowman Field, hundreds of people gathered for a 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony..
The main speaker was Jim Kadnar, a New York City Firefighter. The event began with a three mile procession of motorcycles that covered 37 miles of Lycoming County, in tribute to those who died on this day -six years ago.
