Northwest Strike Enters 4th Week - Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 11:47PM EST

UNION TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- A teachers’ strike in the Northwest Area School District will enter its fourth week Monday morning.

Teachers went out on strike in mid-November and so far there has been little headway in negotiations. The main stumbling blocks are healthcare costs and salary increases.

School is cancelled once again Monday. State education officials say the strike could last until this Friday, December 12. There's no word if it will go that long.
