SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY-The faithful are gathering by the hundreds in Scranton for the week long novena to Saint Ann.

Each year people come from near and far to Saint Ann's Basilica in Scranton.

Thursday was the night is the first night of the nine day novena to Saint Ann.
The faithful believe Saint Ann is the grandmother of Jesus.
Many claim miracles by praying to her.
The novena is one of the largest and most longstanding religious pilgrimages in the country.

Daily services are held inside and outside the Basilica until the feast day on July 26-th.
