MONROE COUNTY- The Saturday arrest of a Tobyhanna man accused of murdering a Deanna Null and scattering her remains along the highway was the talk of the town in the Poconos today.

Many wondered how the accused, Charles Hicks, was allowed to work at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. According to arrest papers, Hicks was accused of several crimes in Texas and Virginia. But that did not prevent him from getting a job at the Military Equipment Repair Center.

Court documents show Hicks was arrested for four crimes since 2002. Those include assault, robbery and sex assault.

WBRE has learned that charges in two of the cases were dismissed. But officials could not tell us what happened in the other cases.

Tobyhanna Army Depot officials tell us they hired Hicks through an outside company called Defense Support Services. The company told WBRE News that they are investigating the case and will contact us when they had more information.

We will continue to follow this unfolding story and have more information as it becomes available.
