Old Forge Factory Fire Burns for Second Time in a Year
Old Forge Factory Fire Burns for Second Time in a Year - Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 07:30AM EST
LACKWANNA COUNTY - A vacant factory in Old Forge goes up in flames for the second time in a year.
The fire started in the basement and spread to the first floor of the former Woodstock Wire Works on hillcrest drive.
Old Forge Fire Chief Bob Aulisio said crews responded quickly, "We immediately got the this facility - we had a feeling it could have been here. Once we discovered where the fire was we laid in and started fighting the fire. So within 15 minutes or so we had line stretched and started fighting the fire."
The same factory was torched back in early June.
That fire was declared arson.
The fire chief says the building is scheduled to be torn down.
That factory used to make wire frames for lamp shades. | |
